OverviewThe FLPhoneCode NA program is a telephone area code reference, for handheld computers or mobile phones running Palm OS. It covers North America, including the United States, Canada, the Carribean, and non-geographic area codes such as those for toll-free services. The program allows you to enter an area code or city, select an area code from a list, or select a city from a list. Main Screen The opening screen is the one that permits area code or city entries. After you have entered the code or city name on the dotted line (text field), you tap the 'Search' button. The program searches its database for your entry and updates the boxes below the horizontal solid line accordingly. If you entered an area code, the 'Codes' box will echo it back to you, the 'State or province' box will indicate where the area code is located, and the 'Major cities' box will list the larger cities within the area code. If you entered a city name, the 'Codes' box will contain all area codes associated with that city, the 'State or province' box will show where the city is located, and the 'Major cities' box will list other large cities associated with the area codes. The example below assumes that you entered '303', 'Denver', or 'Boulder' and tapped the 'Search' button. This is the default entry when you start the program. ![]() The three buttons at the bottom of the screen serve as tabs for navigating between screens. Tapping the 'Select Code...' button will take you to the screen that allows you to select an area code from a list. Tapping the 'Select City...' button will take you to the screen that allows you to select a city from a list. Select Code Screen The by Code screen displays along the left side a list of all area codes in the program database. If you scroll to and tap an area code, the program will update the boxes to the right of the solid vertical line accordingly. The example below assumes that you tapped '201' in the area code list. This is the default selection when you first open the screen.
If you tap the 'Enter...' button, the program takes you back to the main screen. If you tap the 'Select City...' button, the program displays the third screen. Select City Screen The by City screen displays along the left side a list of all cities in the program database. If you scroll to and tap a city name, the program updates the box to the right of the solid vertical line accordingly. The example below assumes that you tapped 'Abbotsford, BC' in the city list. This is the default selection when you first open the screen.
If you tap the 'Enter...' button, the program takes you back to the main screen. If you tap the 'Select Code...' button, the program displays the second screen. |
