The FLWaveRef program is a companion for FLPhysicsRef, or it may be purchased and used by itself. It supplements FLPhysicsRef by providing information about the electromagnetic spectrum, the visible light spectrum, ionizing radiation levels, and sound levels. User Interface The opening screen includes four buttons, one for each type of 'wave' information. ![]() The program also has an Options menu that allows you to control whether or not the program remembers the current page when you close the program, to enable or disable button colors, to view the license agreement, or to view the program version. If you tap a button on the main screen, the program takes you to one of screens described below. Electromagnetic Spectrum Screen The Electromagnetic Spectrum screen contains a vertical row of buttons, one for each order of magnitude in the spectrum, from radio waves to gamma rays. If you tap a button, the program displays additional information about the frequency, including the type of radiation (radio, microwave, etc.), a source of the radiation, frequency and wavelength in alternate units, an example to illustrate the magnitude of the wavelength, and the energy of one photon. If you tap the "i" in the upper right corner, the program displays some tips on using the screen.
If you tap the "<Back" button, the program returns to the main screen. Visible Light Spectrum Screen The Visible Light Spectrum screen contains a vertical row of buttons, one for each major color in the spectrum, from red to violet.. If you tap a button, the program displays additional information about the frequency, including the frequency and wavelength in alternate units and the RGB (red-green-blue) mixture used to display the color on the screen. If you tap the "i" in the upper right corner, the program displays some tips on using the screen.
If you tap the "<Back" button, the program returns to the main screen. Ionizing Radiation Levels Screen The Ionizing Radiation Levels screen contains a vertical row of buttons, one for each order of magnitude in dose equivalent levels, from very low to dangerously high. If you tap a button, the program displays additional information about the level, including a conversion to mrem units and one or more examples of this level of radiation. If you tap the "i" in the upper right corner, the program displays some information about ionizing radiation units.
If you tap the "<Back" button, the program returns to the main screen. Sound Levels Screen The Sound Levels screen contains a list of sound levels in terms of dB, with real world examples for some of the levels. If you tap the down arrow you will see the levels above 65 dB. If you tap the "i" in the upper right corner, the program displays some tips on using the screen.
If you tap the "<Back" button, the program returns to the main screen. |
